Earlier this year, I was with Stormy Wellington — a woman whose presence fills a room — when she introduced me to her friend, Shaq.
Stormy had been wearing his wigs for a while, and every time I saw her, I’d think,
“Her hair looks unbelievable… who is doing this?”
Not unbelievable in a “wig” way.
Unbelievable in a that looks like her actual hair way.
Stormy kept saying, “Danielle, you need to meet him. You two think the same.”
And she was right.
When I met Shaq, everything clicked instantly. He’s one of those rare artists who creates from instinct and purpose — someone who doesn’t just sew wigs, but transforms people with them. He loves making others feel beautiful and seen, and that’s exactly the energy ISLA has always been built on.
And when he discovered ISLA Hair — the fullness, the softness, the authenticity — he said,

The spark happened early this year… and we got to work immediately.
