For those who don’t know me, I’m Danielle K. White, creator of Natural Beaded Rows (NBR) and Isla Hand-Tied Hair. I’ve been working behind the chair for over 20 years, and 13 years ago, I made it my mission to revolutionize the hair extension industry by creating a movement that prioritizes natural, seamless results. Together with talented artists like you, we’ve elevated the game!
It all starts with choosing the right weft colors for that flawless, natural blend. Let’s be real—no matter what extension method you use, if the color doesn’t blend, it’s an instant giveaway that you’re wearing extensions.
This Week’s Blend: My Hair Color Formula
My hair tends to fade to a warm so I decided to embrace the warmth, I Went a little bit darker, but wanted to make sure it didn’t go too dark and look flat, so I added a little bit of warmth to my formula.
For this transformation we used:
- Redken Shades EQ: 2 parts 6NB + 1 part 6CB(You might shy away from CB, but it gives a lot of warmth and shine, giving the color a rich, chocolatey brown look.)
With my ISLA Hand-Tied Hair I mixed:
- 3WB
- 3N
- 5WB
(For the 5WB, I used a custom color mix of 4NB and 6CB, applying a slightly darker tone to account for my natural hair’s porous texture that tends to take on color more intensely.)
