This Mane Monday features a bold, high-impact copper transformation created for ISLA Hair using a custom blend of color work and extension customization to achieve a vibrant, fiery result with seamless dimension and movement.
The model started as a soft, dimensional blonde with a healthy lift and natural variation throughout the mid-lengths and ends. The goal wasn’t to “fix” the hair — it was to completely shift the tone into a luminous copper with depth and reflectivity while preserving the brightness and movement already there.

Let’s talk copper — because it is never just “orange.”
Copper lives in layers. It reflects differently depending on underlying pigment, porosity, and how the light hits the hair. That’s why achieving a clean, expensive-looking copper requires more than just applying a single formula — it requires control, intention, and customization at every level.
Now let’s break down this transformation.
We started with ISLA Hair in 6CB, which gave us the perfect copper base to build on. One of the reasons I love working with ISLA is because the tones are designed to be both wearable and fully customizable — you can keep them soft and natural or push them into bold fashion directions depending on your end goal.
For this look, the client wanted something more fashion-forward — a true vibrant copper with a fiery red reflect rather than a soft ginger.
So we toned the ISLA Hair using straight Orange Kicker in Redken Shades EQ to push the copper into a more saturated, high-impact finish.
That’s the beauty of 6CB in ISLA — it’s a perfect foundation that can live in multiple worlds:
• Soft, dimensional copper-gold if left subtle
• Or bold, editorial copper when customized with targeted toning

Now let’s talk about the client’s natural hair.
We initially toned her natural hair with 6CB + 6CC to build a rich copper base that would still allow her existing dimensional blonde to shine through underneath. This is where balance becomes everything — because you don’t want to erase dimension, you want to transform it.
This client happened to be my daughter, and in true real-life fashion, she left the color on way longer than instructed. Instead of rinsing at the intended timing, she waited an extra hour… and the result came back significantly deeper than what we planned.
So we had to do a little color correction “hair surgery.”
To re-open and rebalance the tone, we went back in with straight Orange Kicker, layered over the previous formula. This instantly reactivated the warmth and brought the hair back into that vibrant, fiery copper she originally wanted — rich, reflective, and full of life.
Once her natural hair was corrected, we installed ISLA Hand-Tied Wefts in 6CB, custom-toned with the same straight Orange Kicker to ensure everything lived in the same tonal family.
The result was intentional:
• Bright, fiery copper energy
• Seamless blend from root to extension
• Soft movement with dimension already built in
• A modern copper that still respects the underlying blonde history
This is what happens when color correction and extension artistry work together — not separately.
We finished the transformation using ISLA Hand-Tied Wefts, allowing the cut, color, and placement to move as one cohesive system rather than disconnected pieces.
✨ This is the difference between coloring hair and building a full transformation system.
